EYFS - Early Years Foundation Stage
Planning
We recognise that children learn best in a child centred environment. The care and education we offer encourages children to continue to develop and learn through purposeful play with the support and encouragement of familiar adults. We offer a balance of Child led and Adult/Child initiated experiences and activities that cover all the areas of learning both indoors and out. The opportunities we offer the children are mostly around the child's interests and carefully planned in accordance with the EYFS, we plan using a flexible approach that can easily be adapted to the individual needs and interests of each child attending the nursery. Staff monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of their practice by observing the children and continuously assessing individual progress or identifying any needs.
Inclusion
We are an inclusive setting that welcomes everybody regardless of background, culture or disability. We support children of families who use English as an additional language. We work closely with outside agencies and families to ensure we are fully supporting children with any identified need.
We have our own SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) so if your child has a diagnosis of an identified need we will start up one planning. This will be a working document supporting your child and their next steps, but we will break these stages down so smaller steps towards our main goal, we will meet with parents on a termly basis as a minimum and we have excellent relationships with SEND outside proffessionals.
